Imam Shafi Did Not Change Islam According To Changing Times and Places

Those who wish the Ummah to accept submission before US hegemony have sought to amend Islam so that it does not exceed the boundaries set by Blair and Bush. They carry the old call of "modernism". They would have us accept the Western way of life because the West is strong. Such a call is in fact just one part of the crusade against Islam that is being waged under the guise of a "war against terrorism". The modernisers who sit in the courts of Blair and Bush and at the feet of the tyrant rulers in the Muslim countries suggest that Islam can change from time to time, and from place to place. The consequence of this concept is that certain rules of Islam, would not apply, due to the new environment they live in, and that we live in a new time and age. So rules regarding riba, marriage, social interaction, international law, ruling systems, would need to be updated, according to the said principle. The proponents of this understanding use the example of Imam Shafi to l

An Idea Whose Time Has Come?

The following is an interesting article that highlight the rise of the political understanding of Islam in the world and the yearning for a return to the Islamic rule - the Khilafah state. http://www.antiwar.com/pat/?articleid=9192 An Idea Whose Time Has Come? by Patrick J. Buchanan In 1938, the year of Anschluss and Munich, a perceptive British Catholic looked beyond the continent over which war clouds hung and saw another cloud forming. "It has always seemed to me … probable," wrote Hilaire Belloc, "that there would be a resurrection of Islam and that our sons or our grandsons would see the renewal of that tremendous struggle between the Christian culture and what has been for more than a thousand years its greatest opponent." Belloc was prophetic. Even as Christianity seems to be dying in Europe, Islam is rising to shake the 21st century as it did so many previous centuries. Indeed, as one watches U.S. armed forces struggle against Sunni insurgents, Shia militias

Seeking our rights under a non-Islamic system

Question: Is it permitted for us to seek our rights under a non-Islamic system, for example are we allowed to go through the courts under a Kufr system? If so, what are the conditions for this. Answer: 1. The person has the right to demand for his right and to demand for removing the injustice away from him and to defend himself by proving his right and removing the injustice away from him. He has the right to delegate another person (such as a solicitor) to do that on his behalf. 2. Such right has to be approved by the Shar’a but not by the man-made law, and similarly the zulm (injustice) has to be proved likewise. Had a Muslim sold some alcohol and the purchaser did not pay him the price, this price would not be considered a right for the Muslim. Therefore it is wrong to demand of it, though it is (his) right according to the man-made law. Similarly if an insurance company did not pay to the insurer for an accident, i.e. did not compensate him and dealt with him unjustly
