Protest in Delhi calls on Arab armies to Defend Gaza

Hundreds of Muslims held a protest against the horrific attacks on Gaza by the illegal state of Israel on Saturday, 17th January 2009 at Jantar Mantar in the Indian capital of New Delhi. The protestors included Islamic scholars, activists, students and professionals. Photos of the protest are included below.

I switched on my TV to try and get the latest news on the terrible situation of our brethren in Gaza. Although I attended the big demonstration today in London, calling all the Arab rulers to account for their inaction, I still find that after the cooking, cleaning, wiping runny noses and picking up toys, the thoughts of Gaza start escaping me. So in a worried flurry I feel I need to feel what's happening again - I mean if it was my mother, sister and own children, would I just switch off just because I'd been to a demo for a couple of hours that day? Resolution 1860 is a disgraceful slap in the face of the rulers in the Islamic Lands

The following is the translation of an Arabic leaflet widely circulated in the Muslim world. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Resolution 1860 is a disgraceful slap in the face of the rulers in the Islamic Lands Not content with denying Gaza the help of the Muslim armies, they surrender it to the Jews through international resolutions This morning the United Nations Security Council issued Resolution 1860 regarding the brutal hostility against the Gaza Strip. This resolution’s wording employs malicious, political cunning, as used previously in Resolution 242, after the hostility in 1967, which mentions withdrawal from “territories,” without specifying withdrawal from “the territories,” and thus granting the state of Jews scope to remain on territories that it seized! With regards to Resolution 1860, its does not mention withdrawal from Gaza, rather it limits itself to a ceasefire “leading” to withdrawal!
